Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway

Known affectionately as ‘la’al Ratty’, this is the oldest
narrow-gauge railway in England. Originally built in 1875 to carry
iron ore, it now provides an entertaining 7 mile, 40 minute steam
train journey that winds its way through forest and fields of lower
Eskdale.
